Mumbai, December 5, 2016: Popular actor Barun Sobti is all set to return to the youth favourite destination Hotstar yet again! Barun will soon be seen on Tanhaiyaan, a 10-part series which is currently being shot and also features another youth favourite Surbhi Jyoti. These protagonists of two top rated shows, Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon and Qubool Hai, are all set to come together for the first time on this brand new series to be available exclusively as a part of Hotstar Originals.
Says Barun, “It is always exciting to reconnect with the audience on Hotstar which continues to shower us with lots of love for the work we did in the recent past. We felt it is time to give back the love to our fans with Tanhaiyaan, a love story which we feel will surely be appreciated by our beloved audience.”
Tanhaiyaan has already becoming a talking point among the fans of Barun’s previous show Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon – an iconic creation in terms of its connect with the youth. Such was the massive, cult following of the show and its lead actors Barun and Sanaya, that popular demand from fans, forced its makers to return with an 8-part series titled Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon – Ek Jashn exclusively for Hotstar. Fans continue to watch reruns of show on Hotstar even today.
Ajit Mohan, CEO – Hotstar, says, “Aligining with our endeavor to continue being great storytellers for our audience, we have been very selective with offerings under the Hotstar Originals series. Tanhaiyaan is a very significant addition to our content library as we continue to expand our offerings. The show has been made on the same scale as a television show and we are sure that the audience will take a liking to it.”
It will be interesting to see if the lead pair of Barun and Surbhi is able to recreate Sanaya and Barun’s magic and chemistry from Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon. The audience is surely in for a double treat when the two celebrated actors come together on Tanhaiyaan.
